Before I ever created the BEFREE MethodI was fighting a private battle with food.

For over two decades, I lived in cycles I couldn’t seem to break.
I would restrict, follow a diet, and tell myself this time would be different.
Then I’d find myself sitting in my car, eating Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and going to extreme lengths to hide the evidence. All the time, wondering what was wrong with me.

It felt like food had power over me.

When I was anxious I ate.
When I was scared I ate.
When I felt rejected, disappointed, or overwhelmed I ate.

And then I wouldn’t eat.
I’d swing back into control. Rules. Plans. Rigid structure.
I thought willpower would save me.

But nothing gave me peace. Nothing gave me balance.
And no amount of credentials, certifications, or knowledge could help me “fix” the shame I was carrying.

I wasn’t broken.
But the systems I’d been taught were...

No one asked why I was eating in the first place.
No one helped me look at what was underneath.
No one considered that my eating was an attempt to soothe pain, not sabotage my progress.

I tried everything I was “supposed” to do.

And still — I felt stuck.

I thought I lacked discipline.
But what I really lacked was a path.
